Aesthetic clinics are now sprouting up like mushrooms in Bali, so I went on the hunt to find the best place. After owning an Aesthetic clinic for five years and losing it to Covid lockdowns and no tourism, I felt naked, not knowing where to get all my much-needed beauty treatments. Being very spoilt and fussy and appraised of all the treatments available, it was a real hunt to find a replacement clinic.
I decided that Cocoon Medical Spa on Sunset Road was the best match for me. As a competitor, I had always admired their vast range of treatments quality of doctors. Louise Cogan, the owner, was a real expert in the latest beauty treatments available worldwide.
Humbled by their expertise, I had my first consultation with Setiawan, the GM and Dr Jose. We all agreed that it was much better to promote a mature sixty-six-year-old lady like me, who's full of wrinkles, sunspots and open pours, rather than a beautiful young woman with perfect skin. So we agreed that I would become Cocoon's ambassador sharing my beauty journey on Social Media with authenticity and transparency.
Dr Jose looked at my skin, squinting and pursing her lips; she concluded, "Hmm, I think we need to do a fair bit for you."
"What do you suggest?" I asked, excited about how she could transform me as I looked exhausted, my skin texture dull and dehydrated, and many new lines had appeared.
My protocol was going to be two sessions with RF Fractional RF micro-needling, combined with PRP Platlet-Rich Plasma, a Lazer 3D by Quanta for skin rejuvenation, to reduce sunspots, lines, scarring, and open pores, stimulates collagen growth, evens our skin tone and brightens the skin. To complete my rejuvenation and transformation, some Botox and Derma Fillers injectables were needed.
In the interim, I took a holiday to Sumba and managed to get sunburnt, something I try to avoid, but I love the sun and surf and won't change my lifestyle for beauty. So to help with the burn and skin dehydration, I had 360 Full body Red-Light Therapy Radiance to supercharge my cellular energy circulation and skin radiance over my whole body.
I lay on top of the Red Light Infrared Mat while the therapist placed the Red Light Body Screen and Nano spray over my face. I could feel the infrared light's soothing wavelengths and healing powers while I drifted into a very calm and relaxed space. While I was zoning out, they placed an Oxygen Halo over my head and breathed in pure concentrated oxygen, saturating my system with healing H2O that helps your respiratory system, sleeping, migraines, and hangovers! I lay there for thirty minutes of pure bliss, and when it was finished, I almost floated off the bed feeling de-stressed, refreshed and glowing. Even my friends that night commented on how radiant I looked and my positive energy.
The following treatment was RF Micro-needling. I was a little apprehensive as I had not had good results
in my clinic, but I was assured that it was the best initial treatment for my skin. The nurse applied numbing cream all over my face and neck for forty minutes. Microneedles were delivered into the dermis with a high-tensioned radio-frequency pulse penetrating deeper into the targeted tissues. This traumatised the skin to create collagen growth to regenerate, help the skin feel tighter, reduce wrinkles, and general rejuvenation. After the treatment, I had Red- Light Therapy to stimulate healing.
The treatment took about thirty minutes, was painless, and I was surprised at how slight redness and swollen I was. The results were noticeable even that night, and when I woke in the morning, my skin was all dewy, youthful, and hydrated. There was supposed to be itchiness and flaking after the procedure, but I had none of that.
A month later, I was booked in to have the second round, which would ensure a lasting result.
